Who is the Practice Manager Mr Andrew Morgan until 31/12/2002 After this date the role of Practice Manager will be assumed by one of the partners (Dr Peter Crouch) 
How do I request a repeat prescription ? Click on the repeat prescription request icon on the left of each page to order requests on the web.You can request repeat prescriptions routinely by post, fax, hand or on the web. We cannot accept requests over the telephone as the margin for error is huge. For urgent requests, please call the practice on 709500 
How can I register to become a patient at the practice ? You can fill out the form on line, you call call the practice on 01793 709500 or you can write in for a registration form. The practice has a very well demarcated catchment area but will accept patients who live within the catchment are irrespective of their health care needs. 
What is the practice’s approach to abusive actions, threats of violence or aggression towards it’s staff or doctors ? The practice operates a Zero Tolerance approach towards this kind of behaviour. This is now the case across the National Health Service. In the case of aggressive or abusive behaviour, the practice reserves the right to ask the Health Authority to remove patients from the practice list. 
What services are offered from Taw Hill Medical Practice ? A full range of general medical services are offered. Most services are free. Some travel vaccinations attract a charge in line with Department of Health guidelines. Some services fall outside the national health service and are both optional and attract a separate charge. For example we offer some space to visiting private therapists who charge less than they would normally. Acupuncture, aromatherapy and sports massage are examples of such services. Details of these can be found on this website. 
When is the practice open ? The practice opening times are shown separately on this website under the Practice Opening Times icon on the left side bar. We publish opening times for occasional and bank holidays in this section too.  
What is the e-mail address for the practice? The correct e-mail address to use is enquiries@tawhillsurgery.nhs.uk Mail sent to this e-mail address will be received in confidence by the front desk and forwarded to the clinical team. If you are concerned about e-mails being intercepted between your e-mail provider and the practice then please consider using other methods of contact (e.g. post / phone or fax) 
What is the fax number for the practice ? The fax number for the practice is 01793 723875. Faxes will only be read by the practice when the practice is open. For urgent messages, please phone the practice on 01793709500. This is a "Safe Haven" fax machine and is positioned in a secure area within the practice so that faxes can be received securely at any time (even when the practice is closed). 
How can I make a suggestion or make a complaint ? There is a suggestions box in the waiting room and we welcome comments about how we might improve or introduce new services. There is an also an established complaints procedure. You can make an informal complaint - call and ask to speak to the practice manager. The majority of informal complaints arise due to simple misunderstandings and these may be resolved quite amicably following a discussion like this. If you wish to make a formal complaint then please write to The Practice Manager at Taw Hill Medical Practice, Queen Elizabeth Drive, Swindon, SN25 1WL. The practice will investigate all complaints and will provide a written response. We are grateful for the suggestions we receive. Although we receive very few complaints, we do welcome feedback as this helps us deliver medical care of the highest quality. There are times when factors beyond our control compromise our ability to do so and many cases of informal complaint do not progress to the formal complaint stage as patients may be satisfied with an explanation and an apology there appropriate.  
How can I access self help leaflets or find out about self help groups ? There is an extensive leaflet library at the practice and leaflet dispensers line the walls of the waiting room and the clinical corridor. You can also access a list of the leaflets on this website by clicking on the advice leaflets link on the left hand side of the main page. Some leaflets are downloadable (we hope to increase the number available very soon). There is also an In-Touch-with-Health booth in the worship centre lobby which provides access to updated health information and you can print this out to take away with you. There is also an internet connected terminal in the practice waiting room plus a small library of self help books in the practice wating room for you to read in the practice. What is NHS Direct ? An advice line staffed by experienced Nurses. It is available 24 hours a day on 0845 46 47.
